As promised on an earlier thread, I started some A/B comparisons of the CD5 and the Slim Transporter tonight.
Both are connected via standard Naim interconnects to a NAC112, and then onto a NAP150 driving a pair of Monitor Audio Silver RS6s. I syncronised the start of tracks on Julia Fordham's That's Live and switched between sources listening carefully... First impressions are that they offer near identical musical experiences, both detailed with good stereo imaging. If anything the CD5's base seemed a little blurred in comparison to the Transporter. I will leave the CD5 powered on overnight and continue tomorrow with some more varied material after it's nicely warmed up and stable. |

Its not really a good idea i my experience to do direct side by side on a track of music. they will always sound 'nearly identical'
Use one for a few days, then tae it out and use the other. |

OK, will try some longer listening sessions as well. My only issue is since I ripped all my CD collection onto FLAC I need to go up into the loft to get CDs down to play...
