At the end of the day John, your dealer can't make you an n-Vi, but they are your point of contact with Naim. If you can't rely on them to keep you in the loop then you need to ask yourself if you want further dealings with them.
On the flipside, they can't tell you what they don't know.... BUT they could at least be honest about it and make an effort to maintain a line of communication. In your shoes I'd speak to Naim and see if they were prepared to maintain my place in the queue if the order were moved elsewhere. They might not agree (and would be within their rights), but if they did then I'd find a Naim dealer within reach who was prepared to actually work for your cash in their till. I'd then get my money back off the first bods and move it to the others, sit back, and hope the n-Vi isn't much longer coming. That's just what I'd do. Doesn't mean you should.... doesn't mean you shouldn't!!! |

John wifey here. I am now getting very fed up! After living with Naim equipment for the last 25 years and taking 25 years to accept why John wanted it, and why it cost so much money enough is enough! Its time i think for me to take over.. OMG watch out there then...i do not do things by halves! I demo'd the Naim N-vi and i was the one that said yes lets get one. All if a sudden i am quite happy with the set up we already have and would be quite happy now to keep it! Come on Rayleigh Hi-Fi, the order is slowly slipping away...and MY patience is running out now...where is the communication and customer service!. I feel better now... Thankou for listening guys... First, can you assure everybody that there is absolutely no "undeclared history" about this case. I can't imagine there is, but lets be absolutely clear anyway..... Second, just for the record, when did you order the n-vi and have you paid either in full or some sort of deposit. My dealer doesn't ask for either, but.......... have you actually telephoned Naim direct (remember to use the NEW phone number which is highlighted in one of Adam's "special" threads. If you haven't paid a deposit I would suggest enough is enough and move on to another dealer. There is one who often posts on this forum and who lots of people like. Providing you have a car, he can only be an hour's drive up the M11/A14........... Keep us posted Cheers Don |

don, checked my receipt paid £495 deposit on the 15th march, then having read on rayleigh hi fi web site, i could buy it on interest free for 12 months, so went back into the shop a couple of weeks later and signed up for the interest free, so i now presume they have had the full cost of the n-vi from the finance company, which means i will be expected to pay the balance by next april and will in fact only have had the n-vi for 9 months not 12

When I bought 102/180 on interest free the agreement did not start until delivery - certainly, the dealer should not be collecting the money from the finance company until the goods have delivered. It cannot be right that you'd get interest free credit from order rather than delivery

Hiya,
Wifey here again..... I will check that with Rayleigh, that we dont have to pay until delivery. That will makes things better. Just hope it is worth the wait,and that there is a good explanation as to why communications are not getting through on either party. If a phone call was made to us now and again my patience would be holding up a lot more.. We shall see... Cheers Wifey. |

received a phone call from lee at rayleigh hi fi today at around 15:30, he stated that my n-vi was undergoing a soak test as we speak and if all goes well should have it by the weekend,he said he would keep me informed, fingers crossed, perhaps they have been reading the forums ?

hole in factory roof they have all been tested .good news john at last .had my software done tues. just pluged in front speakers got xtc on sounds better dont think its software its the naim speaker plugs that my dealer put on .get yours done if you can before you pick up n/vi they take a long time to do they are a right git to do .they. put q e d on other end crimped.they did not have time to change too m, region comeing round to do that forgot to ask what number software. will do so tomorrow and let you know regards munch

hello munch, changed my speaker cable recently to chord carnival dealer said was better off with bare wires for the speaker ends, as for him fitting naim speaker plugs bearing in mind rear ones would have to be done in stitu, don't think i have much chance, he only agreed to set n-vi up if there were no cables to be run, bare in mind not all dealers take as much time as yours with there customers, also thought the region hack was done by the remote, same code as the dvd5,

hi john did not no about dvd5 code. with n/vi i dont wont to do anything to ----it up if my dealer does it it is down to him.have you seen the naim plug that naim say to use into back of n/vi they come with n/vi? regards munch

hi munch, dealer phoned me twice yesterday, out-come being he said he should have my n-vi by saturday and if all goes to plan will bring it and set it up on monday afternoon, still keeping fingers crossed,

munch, apart from the fact i am at work for most of saturday, i would like my dealer to do something for his money, there must be a fair profit margin on an n-vi ?

The nVi is a product that potentially has so much to offer, so let's all here, wish you the best of luck with it. I am still two channel, and, when I get an IDE thingy, back to watching some lovely DVDs via the crumbly PC! Enjoy the new beastie. I really hope it gives you the pleasure it should!
