I am currently running "2-channel" home theatre through the AV (DVD player) and AUX2 cable box) inputs of a NAC202. I find this sufficient for now, but have some "what goes where" questions.

I have a salamander rack which will at some point be replaced current setup from top to bottom is:

CD5

shelf

NAC202

shelf

NAD tuner
Digital Cable Box with DVR
DVD changer

shelf
drawer
shelf

Napsc next to HC2

Shelf

NAP200

Bottom shelf

The rack sits on the floor below shelves which are affixed to the wall and braced between the floor and ceiling as part of a wall unit. Potentially, I could put some components on shelves integrated with this unit, and then put the Naim gear on mana or such (Fraim is quite expensive).

Does this make sense and do any have suggestions on exactly how to implement the placement of components?

Also, the hard drive of the DVR is always spinning to allow pausing of live TV. Even when it's turned off, it still spins, and makes a slight whirling noise. Any thoughts on how to minimize this noise? The unit technically needs 2" of space to "breathe" which I know it does not have now.

Sorry for the use of some much real estate for this post. All help is appreciated.

Cheers,
Mike
