DellBoyOne,

I use the digital output from the DVD5 into a Benchmark DAC1 - bloody brilliant to my ears. As a result I've spent effort on tracking down DVDs with PCM stereo soundtracks.

The DVD5 is pretty good at CD as it stands - it is worth doing the comparison between compressed soundtracks, such as DD & DTS, and PCM.

Roger Waters > In The Flesh - Live.

Peter Gabriel > Play the videos (Fantastic new surround mixes that have been done perfectly, wait till you see the colour range available on your screen with 'shaking the tree', truly remarkable)
These are 'must haves' in any collection.

Three of more of the acoustic variety

Suzanne Vega - Live at Montreau

and (the best live music DVDs availble IMHO)

James Taylor - Pull over
James Taylor - Live at the Beacon theatre

The sound recording on the JT disks is simply stunning (great 5.1 recordings also). His guitar actually sounds something like an acoustic guitar, not like the Eagles live set which I have heard in many demo rooms as being the best music dvd on offer. (Horrible Pize pickups)
