Any recommendations for media pcs. I like the idea of having a media pc with a Blue Ray DVD connected to my tv and connected via wi-fi to my NAS box. I don't suppose it's possible yet but I noticed that Dell have started shipping laptops with a blue ray dvd drive.

I am in a similar place as my old HP PC has just died.
I like the idea of a media centre to hook-up to my 32" tv, but i am worried that it could lead to a remote control fight. Jono |

Main thing to look for is how noisy the PC is.
Also make sure it has dual tuners so you can record one thing and watch another. I went for an Acer idea e510 which looks just like a DVD player. Great machine for the living room but even this in somewhere like a bedroom the disk drive whir is to much. Don't know of a good blue ray media PC yet, also since the announcement of HD freeview coming in a year it may be worth waiting |

you are better building one or having it custom build using an Antec fusion case. this looks like a home cinema amp case and is incredibly quiet especially if your using it in a fanless configuration.
Also it allows you to select the quietest hard discs so you minimise the sound as well. Ryan |

In that case I would maybe have a discless one and connect it to my NAS box, which is in a different room, over the wireless network
