My AV2 is about two years old, and is left in standby mode most of the time.

The other night I heard a "pop" through the speakers and I could no longer get digital sound from the cable box. I thought it was the cable box, but then we tried a DVD and there was no decoding of the digital signal from the DVD player either. Red Face

So, I turned it off for the night and fired it up again the next day - problem solved. Scary, though.

Has anyone experienced a similar problem? Is it because the unit runs so damned hot, even in standby? I am now turning the unit "off" between sessions; so what if it isn't fully warmed up when I want to catch a DVD - better that it WORKS!

Don`t forget thid unit is basically a computer, and as all computers it can freeze some time. Off/On and ready to work again.
The Av2 even in stand-by gets hot, the problem is how hot is yours.
