Am very dissapointed with my overall experience with the n-vi. My main problem with it is the remote which still continues to not respond to commands properly, if at all. I have tried everything - new firmware, resetting the player and the remote, all of which have made no difference. I also have discoverd a new problem. If I switch the player off onto standby mode, and I power it up again it will go straight back to standby mode. I then have to unplug all connections and switch the player off completely for it to power up properly again. The signal cables also have to be left disconnected for the player to power up again. What is going on?? Somebody help me.

IMO, you have a grounding problem. We have seen many displays having a large voltage (floating, sometime half the mains)on their video ground. As the n-Vi is earthed, there is a problem...
Anyway, you must call your dealer and ask him to come to your place to sort this out. It may not be a N-vi problem but an installation one.

Where are you located? Did your dealer install the software updates, or did they leave this for you to do on your own?

Your dealer is your primary resource–alternately, contact your distributor or e-mail

As Dave suggests please mail the address in his post. We are here to help.
can you please note in your mail:-

-serial number of unit (on rear panel)
-firmware revision: press DVD button on remote once, then press and hold PROG button on remote for 5 sec. Front panel will show PIC and CHEERS revisions. (to remove this from front panel press another button)
-components attached to n-Vi, i.e all sources, speaker cable/speakers and screen

If you havent tried this already, the remote reset process can be found here:-

Follow the section concerning resetting both n-Vi AND remote control.
