Silly question time:
Can an n-Vi be used with just two speakers in 2.1 mode or does it need a full brace of speakers to function? The reason being that I a considering one as a single box solution for music and DVD. Jono |

You can use it as a stereo device.
You don't even need a sub (although with bass mix on you can use one as long if your pair of speakers ONLY go down cleanly to about 80Hz). However, it will always be stereo in this configuration - not some kind of "pseudo surround" hocus pocus! |

Thanks Mike.
I just need to setup a demo now to compare it with a SuperNAIT/CD3.5 combo. Jono P.S. Don't take the beast out in this lovely weather else it might get washed away. |

Actually I was out in the heavy rain at the end of last week in the beast.... it made it (and very successfully I might add too) along a mile stretch of 8 inch deep fast flowing flash flood.
Admittedly, I had to remove the headlamps on Sunday and empty a pint of rainwater out of each, but otherwise completely unscathed!!! Good luck with the dem. |

Jono,
I'd be surprised if the CD3.5/SuperNAIT wasn't heaploads better than an n-VI. Regards, Frank. All opinions are my own and do not reflect the opinion of any organisations I work for, except where this is stated explicitly. |

Frank,
maybe, maybe not. The SuperNait should definitely be better than the amplifier section of the n-Vi, but in my opinion the CD-player section of the n-Vi is better than the CD3.5. So if "source first" wins... |

As soon as the demo can be arranged I will post the results.
