Another vote for "Heart of Gold". Wonderful concert, pretty good picture and great sound. It's going really cheap on Amazon right now so don't delay...

Mrs D was away in Prague this week so I watched the following four music DVDs (and about eight episodes of "Yes Minister!")

Antonio Forcione...Quartet in Concert......(4B)
Roy Orbison........Black&WhiteNight........(4A)
Cliff Richard......The Oh Boy! Set.........(4A)
Paul Simon.........Your the One in Concert.(3B)
The Royal Ballet...La Fille mal Gardee.....(3A)

Numbers indicate technical quality, whilst letters indicate artistic merit - both very subjective

Cheers

Don

Don,

Just to be explicit:

1 = best
A = best
??

In a scale to?

Ah ha!!

4 = Best in scale 1 to 4
A = Best in scale A to D

If I had been more careful I would have reversed the numerical scale (1 = Best). The score card would then look like:-

B1
A1
A1
B2
A2

Again, very subjective!!!!!!!!!!

Of course, both the technical score and the artistic score cover both the audio aspect and the visual aspect of the recording. I suppose that I should have separated these out and given scores like Ab3iiii or Ba1ii. How do the "professionls" score DVDs ??

Cheers

Don

Megadeth - Live in Buenos Aires.

We hear so much about PRaT on this forum, and this band and performance are PRaT in it's most aggressive form. The rhythm guitar is brilliant and the guitar solos are great also. The vocals can be a challenge at some points...but can be great in others. The audio product is quite good, I have no complaints. Give it a try if you like Hard Rock and Heavy Metal.

Hi John,

Yep - we're looking forward to it. Fortunately my wife likes the music.

The girls didn't really get on with it - until they saw the DVD. My eldest daughter (16) was in tears when the Martians were slaughtering the humans.

Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds - "The Abbatoir Blues Tour".

Went to this concert at the Manchester Apollo. One of the best concerts I have been to, by one of my favurite artists. DVD is excellent, from the DTS quality to the extra features and bonus live cd's.

On a whim, I bought Procol Harum "Live at the Union Chapel", recorded a couple of years ago.

Staggeringly good, both picture quality, sound and performance!

Hours of entertainment - I thought it was great value, but then I've always liked ELP.
