i'm very happy with my naim system (av 2, dvd 5, nap 150x, napv 175, nac 282, 4 x ruark sabre 3, ruark dialoge 2). but i wonder what adding a subwoofer would bring.

could you please describe what the addition of a subwoofer might bring and recommend one? should i go for the n-sub?

i also heard that it can add to musical performance? could you describe this too?

Well I've A Rel Strata 5.
On films with the .1 channel, it adds that gut moving Bass that really works. And not only in the big budget effects movies, it makes a difference in some surprising films. I.e. a distant pulse that increases the menace.

With music it also makes a difference, in an odd way the treble get clearer and a bit more on the bass. But it takes time to tune the sub woofer, it works best when you can't hear it (i.e extra bass) but you hear it when it's tuned off (things get less clear)
