Over The Hedge - absolute blast! We have the 2-disc special edition. the second disc is really for people who want to do things on their computer and/or internet. The 1st disc has a very amusing extra involving Hammy.

Classic film that unlike many really makes you think.

I really can't wait for the anniversary edition we've been promised for years with the original version (Which i've never seen) the directors cut and lots of extras!

I have just put my name down to be contacted by Play.com when the anniversary edition is about to be released. I guess that it can't be too far away now.

I have a copy of the original theatrical release on VHS in the loft - In a way I prefer that version as it was the first version of the film I saw - the director's cut seems strange without the narration.

I'd really like to see the original, the narration and not having the unicorn dream sequence will definetly steer the is he/isn't he a replicant debate..

There have been whispers of the anniversary edition for years now and I for one can't wait. I think there may be or is going to be a HD-DVD release which if done correctly will be awesome (IE not the stereo soundtrack and no extras we've had from warner brothers thus far...)

The Birds.

Forgotten how good it is. £3 from HMV.

How could Hitch have NOT been awarded an Oscar??!!

Shows the travesty of awards.

"Adrift", which was just ok.
"Snakes on a Plane" which was so bad it was good!

The Da Vinci Code

OK OK, so it's not the book, but the screenplay is well put together, the film is beautifully shot and has good pace. I think of this as a mystery/thriller rather than an action movie so the pace seems right to me. The book comes across at breakneck speed and is pure thriller in my view.

The DVD transfer appears to be excellent too.

"Bring Me the head of Alfredo Garcia". In addition to being the centre of a very long-running joke on I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue, this dark film is one of Peckinpah's finest, IMHO.

Never seen the Film, but did get the Radio reference. I never understood the joke, just as I never understood Mornington Crescent! It is my favoutite comedy prog, though I miss Kenneth Williams, and Willy Rushton...

Now I know it is "filum" I can try to see it!

I thought it was rather wonderful. Two alienated people, looking for 'the heart of Saturday night'. Shot beautifully, two great actors at the top of their game.

Munich: I found this very powerful and effecting.

Memoirs of a Geisha: Bought by my daughter - I quiet enjoyed it. I then borrowed the book from her which I've just finished, and is even better.

Inside Man / The Whole Nine Yards: Enjoyable hooey.

The World's Fastest Indian

Not sure if this has already been mentioned, but one of the most enjoyable and charming films I've seen in a long while.Anthony Hopkins is simply superb [even if his accent is a little difficult to place]. The pace of the film is very gentle until the last 20 minutes or so, which I thought were really quite gripping.

Il Postino
Watched it with some friends over the weekend: haven't seen in a long while. Another charming film and the last scene is really quite moving. Maria Cucinotta should have been in the "people you really fancy thread"

It certainly is!

Yesterday I watched an episode of 'Life on Mars'. The TV-series if you are in doubt. I actually was a summer student in England in 1973 and the furniture in the heroes rented room is very much like that in the room I was sleeping in then. Remember the girl with the teddy on the telly to!

Jonathan Demme's Talking Heads - Stop Making Sense is also a top quality concert film too.

"Thunderball" The Ultimate Edition. These are remarkably good remasters of the Connery Bond classics. What strikes me is that if JB was behaving today as Connery's Bond does he's probably end up on the sex offenders register! No never seems to mean no to Mr Bond!

watched hollywood land last night, on a hd combi disc, only on the sd side, thought ben afflick was quite good in it, not his usual sort of film, i thought it was ok, but the story seemed to move along very slowly.
