Hi John,
only saw the pio 508. For Fujitsus I´ve got to travel far to see one here in Germany. So what´s the difference between the pio and futjitsu in your opinion?
kindest regards Hardy

Hardy, the main thing i did not like about the pio was the lose of detail in the shadows on dark scenes, which they say affects the 42" more than the 50" pio, also pio seemed to need a lot more tweaking to get a decent picture, which even the shop agreed, its not to say the pio is not very good because i think it is, even in england had to travel around 50 miles to see a fujitsu, at the end of the day demo both and then make your mind up, also just to add the fujitsu seems to have a nice finish and looks well made, hope this helps.

Thanks John. I thought the black level and detail in dark scences are the strength of the 8th Pio-Generation . I saw a 428 in a big market. The only difference to the rest was the impression of black, the rest seemed a little overbright in comparison. Signal?: Hm normal PAL digital broadcasting. Then I saw a 508 with the pio blu-ray-player at my Naim-dealer. Holly s...., the picture was physical , haptical, something to grap on. details in the dark? I didn´t asked it because they where there, easy to see, so no need to seek. Yes, you´ve got a lot of adjustement posibilities with a pio and the basic setup isn´t perfect (for SD). But if you can manage this or your dealer is able to make a ISF calibration, a lot better.

Hardy i have only seen the 42" pio which is supposed to suffer more than the 50" with the lost detail in dark backgrounds, also i have seen the pioneer 1080P plasma with pioneer blu-ray player and with an early bluy-ray disc the picture was far from perfect, would like to see it with a good blue-ray disc.

Munch, you are probably right about the box, wife now likes it because its black, also now working via HDMI. and she can record up to 80 hours of rubbish on it, i don't watch many programs so the lack of HD channels does not bother me.
