I recently acquired a Loewe Aconda. The picture quality is astonshingly good, but the set I have has IMO poor sound - very muffled, like a tone control has been set to minus 5.
Any ideas?
They go on ePay for about £200 so if its likely to be a big repair bill, my girls will get an exceptional games monitor...
Are you taking the output from the TV into the hiFi system, if you are using a set top box then you may get better sound by taking it from the set top box to the pre amp of the hifi system.

Are you using the internal tuner of the TV or are you using a settop box of some kind? If the latter, which connection to the TV (scart, FBAS, coax) and have you tried a different source?
I've booked it into a local Loewe engineer, £25 for a look to see whats wrong with it. If its any size of bill, I'll just get another on ePay and let my girls have a mofo games monitor.
I once had something similar. But the sound was only slightly muffled and got worse when I turned up the TV.
At the time there was some kind of problem between the digibox and the rest of the boxes and I could cure it by simply replacing one of the scart cables. Somehow it must have either been damaged or was simply such poor quality, that it screwed up the sound.
I simply replaced it with a different cheapo cable that came with a different box and I was set to go again.
You've already sent it away, so it's too late now, but I would have tried to connect different sources (only one at a time) with different scart cables and see if it makes a difference. If not, it*s probably your TV. If it does, then it's something else.
I had a problem a couple of years ago with my Aconda - different issue though, an irritating buzzing. Simple solution in the end - curing a dry solder joint. So it could be a simple fix and not necessarily big money. Fingers crossed.
