I have an N vi which I am delighted with but I use a 300 to drive front left and right and it makes the centre speaker quality seem rough in comparison.
I know it was not designed as such, but is there anyway to use an active centre with the N vi.
I know I would have been better with a DVD5/AV2 but it would have taken my shelf count up to 10 and not seven as now, which is more than the room can tolerate.
Thanks
Neil

No - you've come up against the ultimate limitation of an all-in-one device.

Maxing out the quality of the front Left & Right speakers (often by integrating the N-Vi with your stereo system) will, ultimately, risk exposing the quality of the centre channel.

Thanks Adam.

I will have to wait for your three channel amp with the equivalent of 250/300 amplification.

Well you never know:-)

Adam:
I'd like to see an "N-vi pre" without the integrated class-D poweramps, but with line-level outputs for all channels, to hook up your desired external poweramps. The missing center-channel output spoils the game for me too.

The look of the N-vi with the fullsize case integrates much better in a reference series stereo setup. It would still save a shelf and the new display is also a nice plus above the separate 5-series case av products.

Neil:
That will be a stack of NAPV 145 & NAP 250 then Winker

I wish it were that simple and I would. Unfortunaterly the 145 will not work with the N vi and centre channel.

I think what is being asked for is that the Nvi does everything.

It does not do everything.

Game over.

It is a gerber multi-tool, a swiss army knife, or a leatherman.

It is not a scalpel, a sword or a scythe.

It may well "perform all functions" but it certainly does not "do everything" Cool
