Hi All,
I am planning to set up a home AV system for my duaghter. Sound (CD) replay quality is more important than DVD. I dont think surround sound is an absolute requirement to start with at least. Current system Arcam Alpha CDP, Naim CB 42/110 Lin Kann II. Upgrade budget around 3,500. Happy to go 2nd hand, got six months to complete the project (in time for her 18th! birthday). I know about the audio side of life but very little on AV. OK, so far I have looked at NVi but I am worried about format wars, etc and ability to upgrade in future. I have just picked up a second hand pair of NSats, so they are in the pot. I also have a spare Slim Devices SB3 kicking around which might come in handy with a digital system. I was thinking of going for a SuperNait to feed the NSats, keeping the Arcam or the SB3 for audio and using the remaining budget just over the 1000 for a Plasma TV and Reasonable DVD Player. Any better (or alternative) ideas appreciated. |
