True perhaps - but the PS3 is the only future proof BR player that I am aware of; and as the standards keep 'evolving' it is the only one I would buy at the moment - and I don't play games!
If it is the 60GB version it will play SACDs.

Good on him.....if that's what he wants to do then why not....
Joe90....if it was all Naim with multiple DBL's, multiple nSub's (which don't go that low for real HT stuff actually), 500's used as mono amp's, nVi's etc, would you have have said the same thing? Take off your green tinted glasses every once in a while and you may see another world out there.

PS3 is the beast that may have tipped the HD replay balance in favor of BluRay....it is remarkably good.

Actually, I was criticising the arrangement of the gear, so yes, I WOULD criticise such a system, EVEN if it was Naim.
It looks like someone who has an unresolved obssession with building blocks.
Scratch that thought - if I really was going to do a mega theatre, I wouldn't even bother with domestic audio - I'd use professional reinforcement speakers. Love it LOUD!
Oh I wouldn't knock the PS3 in its own right, it's a spectacular piece of kit for the price and I own one! But it surely must be outperformed by some of the dedicated players out there, and if you've blown $6,000,000 I don't think price, or having to replace it at a later date can really be a huge issue for you!!!
