Hi all,

I'm considering getting a 'Universal' (hate the use of that word in this context, but never mind) remote control (does it really work on Jupiter?).

The Harman Kardon TC30 seems to be highly rated, although i'm not sure Naim gear will feature on it's list of devices (you have to set these up on the internet). I suspect you may be able to teach it from existing remotes however.

Does anyone have any experience of these, and/or other models?

Cheers,

Phil

i use a Logitech Harmony 550 to control the TV system
not the naim though (different rooms)

it's hard to imagine something more useful and easy to work with.

it is a learning remote so that you can "teach" it any command
from any remote even if it is not supported.
the activities settings are great, one button to completely
change several devices at once i.e. change inputs on tv and receiver/ turn on the dvd player
and turn off other devices not used when watching a video

the software is well designed and works on both my mac and pc.

I use this one, it's very nice and perfect for a Naim system. It learns all commands from existing remotes, also there is a list with pre programmed devices. Touch screen and back light! But no connection to a computer.

I've tried all the Harmony's (525, 555, 885 & the 795)they all worked perfect with all my equipment, including my AV2 & DVD5. They are very easy to set up & up to now pretty reliable.

This Harman Kardon TC30 looks like a rebadged Logitech Harmony 555 but with the color display of the 785...

I have been using a Harmony 659 for the past 2 and a half years and it has worked very well - it controls a home theatre system combined with an integrated Naim 2 channel system with virtually no problems.
