How long a run is feasible from the AV2 to XLR connections for my active speakers pelase?

I ask as my original lead introduces loud hum on the spekaers on the 10m run. The 5m run is fine.

It was ok when it was RCA to XLR.

I suspect it's the cable, shielding etc not the best as it is a made up lead that I've used for a while that my dealer did.

I've tried swapping around but it is definately the 10m run at fault.

The best way to describe it is if it's a earth loop fault.
