I think there should be a separate thread where AV systems can be shown.

Anybody witha projector and a Naim system? Please show and tell.

If I showed my Naim AV system and projector, I'd have the p*ss taken for years to come - no Fraim, no NACA5, too close to the TV, speakers either side of the TV (though a fair distance away) etc. etc. etc.
Big Grin

Computers are supposed to work on 1's and 0's - in other words "Yes" or "No" - why does mine frequently say "Maybe"?......

Is that HERO on the screen?

I enjoyed it but not as much as Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon.

Yes, the quality of the picture on this film is amazing, the sound is also awesome. I thought the film was as a par if not better than Crouching Tiger. I saw it on a demo at the Bristol HiFi show last year so had to buy it. I had to order it from Asia, then later it got released at the cinema in the UK as everyone protested about it I think.

I'm just waiting fort the DVD5+Nsat+Nsub for the full Naim system. Winker
And the room has not yet been renovated, it is awfull, but in the dark, i (we) don't care.
These days the Naim part of the home system is: AV2,250-2,145,150,SBL,Axess.

Well here is an evening shot of my A/V in operation.

The imageer is a Panasonic 42"plasma. If you look closely you might find the "center speaker".

Geoff, don't you find it a little odd having the screen that far off to the right hand side?

Just a thought.

I am probably wierdly constructed but the offset plasma honestly does not bother me at all. It is'nt quite as far off center from the "seat"actually. The photo is taken at the worst angle which exaggerates the effect.

Yes I admit it! My center "speaker" IS a pair of Bose cubes but what you can't see is the bass unit they crossover to that's tucked away in the corner out of sight. Shock horror but believe it or not it it ain't half bad. Actually for music DVD's I otften use a "phantom" center speaker setting. On films most of the time what comes out the center speaker is dialogue. It is small and easy to find room for.

You can't on this forum. You have to put it on a bit of web space or your own web site and then tell this forum to look at it by pressing the Displat Image - UBBCode button and typing in your url.

Say :-

Thanks for that. I don't have a web page so I guess I will have to get that sorted.

I'm quite proud of this setup with an Infocus X1 projector and Carada screen. The DVD player and AV receiver is Rotel. HDTV was installed this week for watching sporting events which is very enjoyable on the big screen and a whole lot better than broadcast television. Source first definitely rules.

Morri
I copied this verbatim to save typing it out again:

This information was given to me by Geoff P...

I was given this site as a place to go for free hosting:

http://www.imageshack.us/

The page comes up with a "browse" button and a "host it" button.
So "browse" to the file you waant then click on "host it". The file will be uploaded to the Imageshack site and a thumbnail version will be displayed along with a set of alternative hosting "strings" for different uses. Pick the first one in the list which is for hosting the full size image on forums, amd copy/paste that string which starts and finishes with the [IMG] statement straight into your e-mail (don't bother with the pic symbol you don't need to use it).
That's it. Image size is best kept down to 1024 x 680 pixels else it comes out too big, but the nice thing is you are not restricted to a miserly 50KB you are allowed much bigger files.

Give it a try

GEOFF

It's also best to signup for an account before you post, as this gives you some control over the images, and you can find them again in the future if you need to.

cheers, Martin

E-mail:- MartinPayne (at) Dial.Pipex.com. Put "Naim" in the title.

Gorgeouis system Stephane! I hope that's not your sub underneath those CDs tough?

What speakers are those if you are planning on upgrading? And may I ask why you went for a "drop down screen" (what are the fixed and the "drop down screens" called properly? It looks like a dedicated room, so why not a fixed screen. Or have you no problems with the screen getting waves?

Hey Naimforce, cute center Winker

By the way. I noticed the diagonal lines in your picture. What are they from? What DVDP are you using or are you using a scart switch of some kind? I get those lines from my TV because of some poor compatibility of TV and scart switch and DVDP. But I haven't seen that on a pj before.
