Technically speaking, the fact that you are driving your front speakers from a dedicated amplifier with its own supply is a boon. Think of your units PSU's as a reservoir, the more load put on it, the less juice available elsewhere.

(obviously you need to set your front speakers to "ext large/small" accordingly on the n-Vi and get the correct cable made up from n-Vi->150).

My n-Vi drives the fronts through a 150x (via a 112x/Hicap that forms my cd/tt 2 channel setup).... works great!

Thanks for the reply.
I now hooked up my nac 112/Nap150 to Nvi and it is sounding better. I was going to have an entirely different setup for two channel audio after I built a dedicated home cinema room which is driven by NVi.
However my NAC112/NAP150 seem better utilised in this new setup.
My cinema is Infocus In82/Nvi/B&W CDM speakers.

Cool!

are your 112/150 x series?

I use a padded 5pin lead to run unity gain into the 112x input 4... this cures some earthing issues I had between the n-Vi, the pre, and my screen (Sharp LC37XD1E)... I'm sending picture now by DVI/HDMI to the screen (latest firmware gave a noticeable improvement on this connection).
Your projector might not raise this issue as it probably uses an IEC mains cable, with an earthing pin.

I do not have the X series just NAC112/NAP150 I am not sure if the X sereies is better. My dealer has set up unity gain without having to send to factory.
I connect my CD5 to Pre amp though I am going to hook my Squeezebox 3 to this and see how it sounds with this setup. I am not sure if I will also need a separate DAC with this setup

I connect my Linn Mimik Cd player, and my turntable (via a stageline) to my pre-amp... my V+ box (cable) and my ageing minidisc recorder go via the n-Vi's digital inputs.

The DAC onboard the n-Vi is fantastic, and greatly improves the sound I get from minidisc over running it straight through the 112... if I had something like a squeezebox I'd run it through the n-Vi's final remaining coax digital in (although I'm assuming it'd have a coax digital out).

I have an SB3 and I run into Dig Coax of NVI and it sounds good but my wifi signal into that room is not good at times. Sb3 has both optical and dig coax and has an on board DAC but NVi has a better DAC as you said
