Hi all,
I currently have 2 separate systems for music and HT. Next week, I'm moving into a new house and I need to merge them together. My current component list is: Rega P25 Naim Nait3 (wired as preamp) Naim NAP90 Spendor SP1/2E Denon DVD2900 Denon AVR2803 PSB Alpha T, C, B and Subsonic 5 My plan is to run pre-out L/R out of the Denon into the Nait3/90 combo to power 2 channel for music and provide a phono stage. The problem is that I don't have room for the Spendors and am considering getting some small M&K Xenons with a refurbished MX70B (2x8"). I have limited space (4.5") for a centre channel between the fireplace mantle and a plasma tv. In this setup, what's the best way run the sub for use in 2ch and multichannel? Do I need two subs? Any advice or suggestions appreciated. Thanks, Bradley |

According to page 18 of the Subsonic instructions you can connect your speakers through the sub from the amp, using the high level inputs, this is similar to the recomended naim setup when using third party subs with high level input. You might want to try just running a second pair of speaker leads from the speakers back to the HL input on the sub, rather than introducing unnessasery connection in the main speaker cable. This setup will supliment the bass in your music system and also in the left and right front of the HT system. Be sure to set your reciever/decoder to large front speakers to make sure that the full bandwdth is sent through the naim to the speakers/sub. You should than also be able to run an rca lead from the lfe ouput on the reciever to the lfe input on the sub. If it works like my rell, these will both work at the same time and be individualy adjustabele. Hope this helps Simon |

Thanks Simon, this is the missing part of the equation. For some reason, I assumed it was either rca or speaker wire connection. I'll verify that the MX-70B supports this kind of wiring, because the replacement model, MX-700, does not. Thanks, Bradley |
