In the Hi-Fi Forum I been asking about the sound quality and sonic impact of moving up the 'chain' CD5i-CD5x-CDX2.... Today a Mtl. dealer told me today about the DVD5. From what I've read on this Forum it would seem that the sound quality of CDs coming from the DVD5 falls somewhere between a CD5i and a CD5x. Correct?

But, I've yet to find a post discussing the sound quality coming from DVD-As. I can't believe that no one as given it a listen.

Anyone? Bob

Bob,

I'm listening - a lot. I've doubled my DVD-As to 14.

I'm just waiting 'til everything is fully run in before commenting.

My main issue with DVD-A is that I think it will die, especially with the intro of Dualdisc, with no mandated hi-rez content.
