Due to have new patio doors put in.
I am changing my av set up so would like your thoughts on a screen to drop down infront of them. It can be 8 to 10ft across and upto a 5ft drop. Munch |

Wow, 10ft's a seriously big screen Stuart! Lucky blighter. I can't go any more than 7'.
With that sort of size it's wise to go for a really good make. I use a VuTech, which is just fine. Depending on the type of projector, it's best to go for a low-gain type. the higher gain ones limit the viewing angle so if you sit off-axis the picture gets fuzzy. |

i would think about spending your money in the right direction.
Do you intend this to be your last screen ( as used ones dont seem to retain much of their initial cost) .Im currently in the process of ordering a 2.40:1 at 96" wide as i intend to go the CIH way and have decided this will probablys be my last ,ive gone for a screen research with masking to 16.9 this has come in at nearly £4000 . id also look at the stewart range . As tony says the screen also depends on what else you have to go with it neil |

Late reply: I also use a VuTech which was "reasonably" priced (about £1500 fitted - that price included re-programming my T+2 remote for various extras)and as far as I'm concerned, it gives a very good 7'6" picture from my SIM2 Domino....
It is designed to only roll one way (i.e. roll up and down) and supposedly will not start to curl in the other plane. Only had it a few weeks so can't confirm that this actually will be the case long term |

I am going to build my own. Munch |

My Vutech is about five years old now, & apart from the odd remains of squashed flies, is fine - no sign of curling on the edges. ...and good luck Stuart! You're a smarter man than me! |
