I have recently become the proud owner of a Panasonic TH42PZ85B Plasma tv. Connecting my Virgin V+ cable box to it through an HDMI cable produces a stunning picture. However when I came to connect my (much loved) Naim nVi via a DVI to HDMI converter all I get is an image that flashes alternatively dark then bright and jumps around the screen. I know very little about this but wondered if it could be a scaler problem. My solution has been to revert to using the SCART connection which produces an image I am more than happy with (I see from other threads that some feel this is the better option anyway). However I just wondered if anyone could shed any light on this issue, do I have a problem with either my nVi or television, or was I trying to do something doomed to fail.
Check with your retailer to insure that you have the most up-to-date PIC and decoder software (DVc02-13 / 0.189.5.6), which includes a variety of HDCP handshaking and bug fixes.
