We have decided to mount our plasma on a wall bracket rather than the corner unit on which it currently sits. The reason being that I have changed my two channel speakers from my old neat little IBLs to Allaes and these get a bit too close to the TV.

It would be preferable if we had the option to pull the TV out at and angle for those times when the whole family want to sit and watch a film, although most of the time this won't be necessary.

The problem I'm finding is that the brackets which allow the screen to be angled tend to stand the TV further off the wall than the fixed brackets.

Does anyone know of a slimline angle bracket.

TV is Pioneer PDP 436 SXE

Regards

Gary

Hi Gary

I use the EFW 6345 wall support from http://www.vogels.com/ and that does the trick for me Winker
This scissors like mechanism is folding quite flat when pushed back, and it's rigid enough not to wobble when teared out. Not cheap tough...

There are different versions depending on weight.

happy watching

Thanks Adrian

That model has actually been recomended by my dealer, but it has a mounting distance of 98mm off the wall. Some of the fixed brackets are only 35 - 40mm. I was hoping to find something nearer the wall, but maybe they simply aren't avilable.

I've been quoted £229.99 for this bracket, does this sound right?

Gary,

The 6345 is the best I found after research. The distance off the wall is good considering what it does. Other cheaper products were junk and looked like they'd sag after a while.

That price is about as cheap as it gets.

My brother in law has overcome this problem by hacking out the plaster on the wall for an area the size of the bracket and bolting straight to the masonry. Depending on the construction of your wall, and your skills at DIY, this may be an option for you as it gets the bracket more flush to the wall and when push in, the tv is right against the wall.

As you will be making a mess, it might be worth chasing in a conduit from low level to the back of the tv, in which you can hide the wires. If you do, remember to leave in some draw wires for pulling through future cables.
