Is anyone else here old enough to remember the guy who used to sing 'Mule Train' and whack himself on the head with a metal tea tray?

His identitiy was driving us nuts at work; but I think we've named him as Tremont 'Bob' Blackman?

Is that right?

Now we want to see him again. Anyone know if his 'act' is available on VHS or DVD anywhere?

He might have performed on a Tommy Cooper show?

Remember him well! Don't remember his name though. As kids we would laugh endlessly and copy him (mum soon put a stop to that, ruined her trays!)

I'll see if I can find out his name, my older brother knows all that kind of stuff.

No sooner said than done. It was Tremont Blackman and you can see the act here.

Ain't the internet wonderful?

He used to appear regularly on Saturday evenings TV, during the 1960's. I think he retired and died about 10 years ago.

Thanks chaps

The memory of Bob's act was almost as funny as trying to explain it to our younger colleagues.

They could see us old farts roaring with laughter at the thought of it, and saying:-

"So; this guy's 'act' consisted of singing one song (badly) and whacking himself over the head with a tray"?

Yup.

Ah; the innocence of our youth eh?

What an act. Another good one was Peter Brough the Radio Ventriloquist Roll Eyes

Honestly you couldn't see his mouth move. Big Grin
