Am off to Singapore this Sunday for a 2 week work trip, so will have the next weekend to myself (hopefully).

Any must see attractions/places/things to do etc???

Cheers

Well, I think that Singapore has been over-built. A lot of charm from 10-20 years ago has been obliterated by concrete chrome & glass. However, there is still loads of good food there, Indian & local food is great & cheap. Lots of outdoors restaurants & food courts.
I don't think shopping for electrical goods is the bargain it once was, compared to UK prices anyway.
Lots of hotels with posh bars up on the **th floor for great city views.
Sentosa island can be a day out, away from the high-rise stuff. You can also get a coach trip over the border for an excursion. The people are friendly the public transport subway system is superb-airconditioned, immaculate cheap & easy to use. Road traffic can be heavy. There are loads of shopping malls everywhere, most are clones of each other & there is also a lot of emphasis on designer labels, posh watches etc. Frequent thunderstorms in the late afternoon/eve can be spectacular, & it is very hot & humid this time of year, so dress cool.
There's probably a lot more day-time culture that I'm unaware of, as I'm normally too jet-lagged (err hung over) to do the daylight stuff.
Enjoy
Matt.

If you are into plants the Botanical Garden is worth a few hours - I seem to remember lots of orchids. Also there is (or used to be) an interesting bird park (not as good as the one in KL though)

and do not forget to eat at the hawker stalls - great value if you are on per diem expenses.

Pete,

I'd recommend a walk (or run if you're keen) around McRitchie Reservoir, Night Safari and lunch (or an afternoon G&T) at Raffles.

At the airport there is a roof top swimming pool. We stopped off on the way to New Zealand and had a swim at night time and snack, amazing high quality good value rest stop.

second the Orchid gardens/botoanical Gardens.
Nighttime Safari
Indian Quater
