Hi Gaz
I have now listened to it for about 2 to 3 hours and have tried AAC, MP3 and WAV formats, all ripped from CD's. I have initially been using a cheap pair of Senheisser headphones. I had not heard an iPOD before. MP3 sounds awful. So far, I have not been able to discern much of a difference between AAC and WAV, maybe WAV has a slight nose ahead? Both sound pretty good to me and certainly nothing like
It's quite enjoyable to listen to actually. The only frustration I have is as my post of yesterday. J nb. - I did upgrade the firmware to 1.1.2 on receipt |

OK thanks for that. I'm happy to stand alone if needs be...LOL by the sounds of the reports though there may have been firmware upgrades that have improved things. Glad you are happy anyway.
hey look here: http://www.macrumors.com/2008/05/02/ipod-classic-firmware-1-1-2-released/ I wish you had tried it once before upgrading.. would have made me feel better. |

If you buy an iPod (or Sony for that matter) in the states, is the guarantee transferable world-wide?
I'm in New York City in September and was thinking if I have any spending money left at the end, to buy whatever I can afford and bring it back, but if it's not guaranteed... Anyone know? |

Simply call it a gift if you have a problem. Jono |
