Sorry I don't think we are allowed to discuss such topics on this forum. Just in case the advice is wrong and you get a nasty shock.
The usual way to get Naim kit sorted is to use a Hydra in to a single spur installed by a qualified electrician, but I think the advent of the Power-Line may have moved that on a bit.

munch - I don't think we allowed to go as far as Nigel needs because he's asking specifics about wiring sockets (I'm sure Adam will advise). There are audio DIY forums that could answer if you go fishing for them in a pink suit. ATB Rotf (no post yet )

Thanks for your replies - not sure if I fully understand them. If it helps - I was obviously going to get my electrician to check my socket wiring when he connects to CU. I think this takes it out of DIY electrical work realm but if a problem then I will just guess what to do - is that a healthier position for everyone!? I was only doing the socket end as I need to check some bad floorboards under stairs where hi-fi is tomorrow and it would be cheaper if I get this bit done myself. Hey ho!! Thanks anyway. Nigel

Thanks 555 for your inspired contribution. It appears that you think I should be in a padded cell but not in this forum. I continue to live and learn! N

As I said I would have got an electrician to check what I was going to do - and I meant that seriously. I am fully aware of the dangers of electricity and agree with the new regulations. I just found your "smilie" a little patronising. But, just to make sure I know I was being patronised you gave your last comment. Thanks. N

I don't know about that, my best friend is a sparky and even he admits that some of the new regs are pathetic. Something along the lines of, if you can't change a light fitting on your own you shouldn't be trusted to drive as it is far more difficult! Not that he minds, more business for him!

change a light fitting? Until I got one of things that switches on the lights when it gets dark, I used to call an electrician to turn the lights on each night
