A friend went to california for a months golfing holiday and ended up having a heart pacemaker fitted - fortunately his insurance picked up the nearly $40k tab (it avoided the queue in the UK)- so yes golf is dangerous - even more so for non golfing colleagues who pass out from terminal boredom when the intricacies of the game are explained.

Alan, please be more specific than "Glasgow". i'm a non -golfer but here in East Renfrewshire you clubs are quite safe.........
