Oh boy, just seen the Champions League draw.

Looks like Liverpool are going to have to first beat Arsenal, then Chelsea, then Man Utd (or Barcelona) to win it.

When that happens, I'll be quite happy. I shall call my first born Fernando (just like Alan Partridge) Rafael Stevie, and never stop talking about it, ever.

Number six here we come!!

A Liverpool fan walks past a shop and sees the video "Liverpool - The Glory Years". He goes into the shop and asks how much. "£100" says the shopkeeper.

"That's a bit steep, how come it's so dear ??"

"Well it's a tenner for the video and £90 for the Betamax recorder!!

Good one, Mark.

For sale: Everton Football Club Champions League tour bus - very low mileage.

That's funny.

Rafa Benitez and David Moyes are being interviewed by the Echo on their plans for next season...

Reporter: "So, David, what are your ambitions for Everton for 2008/9?"

David: "Well, firstly to stay in the Premier League, and hopefully mount a challenge for a place in Europe."

Reporter: "And you, Rafa?"

Rafa: "To win the Premier League, the FA Cup, the Carling Cup, and our seventh European Cup."

Reporter: "Don't you think you're being a little unrealistic there, Rafa?"

Rafa: "Well, David started it."

Bloomin' eck, what happened there?
We scored 2 goals, AND came from behind!! I guess thats what can happen when we play with 2 up front, & not rigor mortis.
And England actually played pretty good rugby as well, so all is sunny in Stebbing.
Matt.

Glad you managed to stop the rot, Matt.

Another win, another 3 goals for QPR and the heady heights of 12th place and only 7 points off a play-off position! We've now scored 3 or more in 7 of our last 8 wins.

Lawks-a-lawdy guv'nor who'd a thought it!

even more pleasing for me today was the fact that i think we may have found a new superstar in the making in freddy sears.
a 17yr old youngster that has come through the west ham youth academy. the partnership with ashton could be a good one if ashton can stay fit.
the crowd really got behind the team today and another full house too. what a difference a week makes! Big Grin
happy hammer!

Yes what a diff he made when he came on.
Another one of our young bright things to come in and play well in the first team.
I just hope we can keep him for a while.
I only saw the highlights what was he like IYO ?
Dave.

well munch....we have always been fortunate to have a great youth policy at upton park with the biggest problem being able to hang onto the youngsters when the glamour clubs come sniffing around.
BUT i do feel as though things have changed for the better with the introduction of the academy a couple of years back which was designed to breed local talent for the future of WEST HAM.
freddie sears is just one talent that is in the process of breaking into the full squad....ive seen him play a few times for the reserves where hes been scoring for fun and that was with ashton and zamora (injuries) were coming back to fitness with the reserves so the kid scored in this company is a great sign.
we have other kids that are on the brink of breaking through and are worth keeping an eye out for........
jordan spence (defender)
james tomkins :who is also a defender and has played for england boys.
jack collison: a very good midfielder who has also played for england.
daniel kearns :is another talented midfielder whos coming along nicely.
so as you can see the talent is there and hopefully the ones that ive mentioned will get their chances soon and theres more coming through too.
the ashton / sears partnership excites me the most as from what ive seen in the reserves they feed off each other very well a bit like cottee / mcavanie did in 86/87.
sure its early days to be dreaming of a prolific strike partnership but the signs are there for all hammers fans to see.
heres hoping. Winker

From what I saw on MOTD, it looked like Deano was a bit fitter/leaner/sharper too.
What say you, Dave?

matt, munch, yes he did mate he actually surprised me in that game with his commitment and effort.
he has suffered a lot of stick from the fans latelly as they know when a players giving 100% or not and deano was giving nowhere near that!
we have also got to be a little realistic in the fact that last season was horrendous for us and we dont want another like that. perhaps we expect too much after last season and the 3 heavy defeats were a wake up call which we have to learn from.
as fans we expect the players to give it a real go in EVERY MATCH not just the big games which has not been happening lately...saturday could be a turning point which we must try to finish as high up the league as possible which in turn will be a springboard for next season.
away to everton next which is usually a very lean place to go for results - we shall see.
