I couldn't really see any other outcome. Well, maybe the Blades may have got some financial compensation from somewhere?

Utter disgrace, Hammers should have gone down, what they did was blatant breach of rules. Utd also broke rules. Teams in the prem have had points deducted for less.

The top four will be an interesting fight this year, man utd have managed to buy in some talent/potential, Arsenal look all over the place, chelsea, if they lose lampard could struggle, liverpool, can they put a consistant run together?! Spurs, can they push for the fourth place?

I really hope Spurs do just to shut up Andy Gray and Sky who just love the established top four!

I've always had a soft spot for "the Hammers". Always appreciated the way they stuck with footballing principles. However, I also find it hard to believe that they've gotten away with this fiasco. their case had more holes than a colander.
Maybe if Warnock wasn't such an odious twat they may have had more allies.

Steve

Neil Warnock didn't want to appeal - he said the reason Sheffield United were in the bottom three was because they didn't win enough games and get enough points.

I think Neil Warnock's OK - he always makes interesting comments - I don't always agree with them, but they are good value.

Why were Leeds allowed to go in to administration on the eve of the game with us (Tractor Boys). I think they should have waited till the end of the season and should start the new season with -10 points, but I suppose they are Leeds not Rotherham or perhaps the league thought Ken Bates was punishment enough.

It's not the fans who are to blame and not the players - we just want to see our teams give 100% on the field and try to win every game.

My tip to go down from the premiership is the same as it was last year: Arsenal - I always get very good odds on it - now when was the last time they were relegated.

Rotf,
I never said it was Warnock's choice, I merely pointed out that IMO his character is more likely to alienate people than ally them to his cause.
And Scotty, come on, when has lying through the teeth with a bunch of dodgy south americans been all above board? I can gather they're dear to your heart, but they got off lightly mate. And that is defo not bollox.

Steve O.

Apologies Steve

I still like guys like Neil Warnock - I think the game needs characters - imagine if all the managers were like Arsene Wenger and Rafael Benitez - good managers, but ..... ZZZZZZZzzzzzz

I think Denis Wise fits your description of Neil Warnock.

steve o,
your completely missing the point. whu have always admited their "guilt" and taken the punishment on the chin ! now if the premier league fail to deduct points and issue a fine is that west hams fault ? the people who should be brought to book are the former chairman - (terence brown) and this iranian fella and his syndicate MSI who financed the deal and consequently scarpered !! but theres nothing said about them.
every whu fan feels for the other teams involved in the relegation struggle and i can completely see your point. but at the end of the day west ham WILL be playing in the premiership next year because they played out of their skins in the run in to the end of season.therefore picking up more points than other relegation haunted teams. p.s. tevez was and still is a registered whu player, why else did the mancs need to get permission to approach him from whu ?
lets now put this to bed once and for all and get on with the footie. not long now boys.
regards, scotty

Scotty,
I really don't think I am missing the point. How can you say WHU admitted it all along when they lied blatantly on two separate occasions. Fact. For me if you admit something then lies aren't needed.

Granted they are not responsible for the punishment administered and out of the teams facing the drop WHU did indeed perform best. But for me at least, the circumstances surrounding their escape takes the sheen off their achievement.

And Rotf, no need to apologise mate. I think you're point about Leeds is spot on. I wonder what would have been WHU's fate had the axe had to fall on them or a Liverpool, Man U or Arsenal? An unlikely scenario I know but you can bet you're life the Premier League wouldn't allow one of those teams to go down in the same set of circumstances.

Regards,
Steve O.
