having looked at the number of PC issues on the forum and being driven insane by the environmental clap trap/sustainability/PC spin we receive in the media from our mediocre politicians and so called environmental do gooders; have a whinge. There must be some NAIM owners who arent afraid to whinge against the current PC world. Smile

I'll start with: -
speed bumps - what is the use of speed bumps other than to ruin the suspension on my gas guzzling highly enjoyable BMW.
Political memoires - only any good to justify why you did what you did or in the case of missus blair to destroy one or 2 trees and cure insomnia for political commentators.

Regards

Henners

the sun is up the sky is blue - oh no it must be global warming - my ****. Its the summer coming at last.

Climate Change.... Credit Crunch..... Zzzzzzzzzzz

I'd like to buy an expensive, underpowered car which has to drag 4 times the weight of a mid-eighties small saloon around, under the guise of having some batteries & crash protection.

Then when that poor asthmatic hamster of a four-cylinder lump under the bonnet tries to make do with the meagre amount of fuel that the vehicle's manufacturer has suggested it can survive on, we can all have a good snigger cos it's like a fat kid on a Grifter trying to ride uphill at night with the dynamo lighting on so he can see where he'll eventually be going!

In the meantime all the cool kids on their Raleigh Arena10's with battery powered lights and a surfeit of caffeine in their systems have managed to reach the summit, saw where they were going, didn't run over any hedgehogs which could neither see nor hear their approach... and most importantly they didn't spill a drop of McEwans, or lose their woodbines whilst failing to break a sweat!!!!!

Rant over.....
... for now......

The more people criticise this man the more certain I am that I would like this country a whole lot more if he ran it!

Buy a decent Merc. My S Class uses a meagre 27 mpg on average and simply glides over speed bumps.

Even the 230 TE estate glides effortlessly over these humps. Its only the little C Class that feels like its hit a rut and challenged the suspension.

Of course with the a/c maintaining a cool 18 deg C in summer or the heater 24 deg C in winter, global warming/global freezing doesn't bother me one little bit.

I feel I should get an a/c fitted into my aeroplane (its a Piper Arrow) which carries four of us around without speed bumps (ok, a bit of turbulence now and then) at a cool 135 kts, that's 155 mph to you earthbound plebs. Believe it or not, it only burns 10 US gph so thats a pretty decsent 18.6 mpg.

And boy! this is all highly enjoyable!!!

Add a couple of transatlantic trips a year to the Rockies, - can't be arsed with optional carbon off-setting optional extra, I prefer to pay for more legroom and a good window seat so we can watch the Greenland glaciers go by before they all melt. On arrival we transform ourselvers into culture vultures, backpacking into the wilderness to see the bears and cougars before they are swamped vith tourists and become extinct. Happy days.

Sod all the sour-pusses, PC dictators, and ecco-warriers effectively paying lip-service to sustainability and effectively re-arranging the provebial deck chairs on the over-poulation Titanic.

Whinge over.

Magic.

cheers

Don

The whole F1/Lewis Hamilton charade. Ridiculous!

It rains in Monaco, he wins because of bizarrely profiting from a mistake when he stuffed it into the barriers and suddenly the uber-cocky one is the best driver on earth again.

F1 is only remotely interesting in the rain anyway. They should flood the track, and prefereably freeze it too before each round. I think I mostly detest the stupendously over-egged ITV commentary. At least when a footie match is dull the commentators say so but the typical F1 procession is sprayed with superlatives.

If I'm at a loose end I switch on 5 minutes before the race and see if it is raining. If not I switch off again.

I much prefer watching the Moto GP, by far, more exhilarating and entertaining than any nambi pambi F1 will ever be!

I'd like to have a moan about Monty Python, and John Cleese in particular.
Life Of Brian is still rated as one of the best comedy films ever. What a load of rubbish. It just isn't funny anymore, and I hate these Python Nerds who can recite whole scripts of the stuff as if anyone wants to hear it.

John Cleese seems to have carved a career out of continuing his Python persona, and it's just embarrassing. That whole parrot sketch character turned into Basil Faulty who morphed into that Clockwise twit. Ohh God...why doesn't someone just shoot him and do us a favour. But...everyone seems to LOVE him, like he's some sort of icon. He only has to do some stupid walk and people are rolling on the floor.

Why? Can someone tell me why he is supposed to be funny?

Father Ted - now THAT'S funny.

Thanks. Feel better now.

Went out for a spot of cross country at lunchtime. Was so hot I had to sponge the horse down afterwards. Must go now and join the kids in the pool.....
