Drivers with race experience often make the comment about the effects of burned aviation fuel on the track. I'm no expert, and I've seen Rossi do his stuff in qualifying at Donington and yep, it doesn't seem to slow him down, I agree.
Prost might say otherwise after he did, I think, 6 pit stops for different tyres in '93! (conditions did vary greatly to be fair, but 'the professor' didn't look so clever).

tony,
lets just be thankful that we have a bgp at all for now - as i fear ecclestone would scrap it tomorrow if he thought he could get away with it!

Don't get me wrong, I love Donington and wish all involved good luck. It's not ideal, but better than Silverstone if only because it has climbs and drops.
My one fear is that Bernie has given them the GP knowing that they won't reach the required standard, so drops them some time around spring 2010.

Anyway, on a lighter note, perhaps Ferrari should employ a girlie ......

It may be at the wrong end of the country for me, but Donington is a superb track. Bring it on!
Off camber on the way down the Craner Curves into the old hairpin. Oh boy, can't wait!
It should have happened years ago. I for one am delighted

As an added benefit you can also visit a well know Naim/Linn dealer before the event!!!

Not that a little rain got in the way of the 1993 European GP, when I was lucky enough to see Senna go from 6th to 1st on the first lap. The only driver to get his discs glowing down the Craner Curves too!

You've got a good memory Tony! I still remember the sight of Senna's discs glowing as he went down the curves. Wonderful.

The circuit is slippy from the overhead flight path, but it makes it interesting and it is the same for all of the drivers!

The Craner Curves are terrifying and a lot steeper than they appear from a spectator point of view. The weight transfer from left to right as you enter the final left curve is .... well terrifying. One was always supposed to be flat out along those curves, but I could never manage it. I loved racing on that circuit.

One thing to be said for the BP being there, it's in central England for everyone.
