I'm in the process of moving to Singapore and would like to meet or at least correspond with other Naim lovers in the city to try and understand the local Naim scene, where to buy equipment and cd's, lp. etc. Please help if you can, by e-mailing me at jsilva@kingsmeadcap.com . Thanks !

Joe

Dear KM,

Thanks for the link.

A wise gentleman once said "It's not the size of your muscle that counts, but rather where you get to put it" . I like the Nait 5i, and maybe that's all the muscle I'll need provided I can get a properly matched system for my smallish living room.

regards,

Joe

Joe,

The main Hi-Fi den in Singapore is the Adelphi building on Coleman St (close to Raffles). Most of the High end dealers are there, along with plenty of Vinyl / CD shops. 4 floors with approx. 30 to 40 audio stores so plenty of choice.

The Naim dealer has a small room there, but their main shop is in the Singapore Shopping Centre I believe.

Good luck.

Pretty healthy pre-owned market there. Check out the busy buy/sell forum with the link I provided earlier.

Sad to say, even I had to pick up a pre-owned Nait 5i. You may be right about muscle part. But alot of folks here own the Naim separates... and all of them are ready to say that they are better.

Hi joe,
Thats got to be a nightmare for you having to pack up all your kit and your loved tt.
How are you going to ship it?
Is Dr Peter going to be out there to set it all up for you?

Hi Munch,
I'm only spending part of my time in Singapore at present. Except for the 552 & 500, together with associated cables, I intend to pretty much sourse the rest of my kit locally. There is a much more vibrant market in Naim kit in Singapore than Hong Kong. The local dealer here says he's sold over 20 DBL's in Singapore over the years, whereas I don't think any have been sold in Hong Kong.

As to whether Peter might come out for a visit at some point, I can only hope that I will give him cause to do so at some point.

Best regards,

Joe

Hi Stuart,

The Tanglin club is virtually a stone's throw from my office and a great place to eat and have a drink. Fortunately for me, my partner is a member there !

hi

I am from Singapore. You can check out Absolute Sound in Singapore Shopping Centre (Dhoby Ghaut MRT) or its branch at Adelphi (City Hall MRT).

Ask anyone in www.echoloft.com where is the Adelphi and they will tell you.

cheers
