Hi Gregg,

I don't have access to the HC2, can you try it on your stageline with the standard 5/4? The delta should be similar for Superline, but shifted up a level obviously. I don't think this applies to you but whether a HC2 or 552 powers the Superline, a cartridge upgrade may be prefered before the Supercap upgrade.

Jeremy,

Do you have a pix of your ARO and Onyx?

Never seen a gem stone Koetsu on an ARO.

I had a HC2 and 4/5 Hiline for the Superline the last weekend. I also changed the HC2 and SC2 between the Snaxo and the Superline. All these tests confirmed my initial impressions. I need a SC to get the musical message of 552/prefix and the extra hifi things that Superline offers. Until then I'll stick to the prefix.

Maybe it's possible to raise the performance of the Superline with nonstandard resistive plugs. I run mine with 500R/1nF. IMO the low tolerance requires tests with the cart at the HQ in order to get the best from the Superline.

Hi Kuma,
Only this one is handy. I'll post some I took a few years ago when I find them.

Question:

Does anyone know if the Superline can be powered from a S/cap olive version?

OK - too literal I admit!

Yes. You will need a Snaxo Burndy and a 4-5 Snaic, or better still a 4-5 HiLine

Probably here I should share my inpressions from the connection Superline - 252 (though it is different from 552). It is one week now since I removed the good old Prefix and connected the so much expected Superline. After serious testing this weekend, I reached the following conclusions:

A very strong influence on the sound with the R + nF combination. Weired dependence of the SUPER device on SIMPLE components. I have not 470, 460, 453 R .....I looked for sth between 500R/1nF and 500R only. The combination that aims at the target best is called Prefix.

Out of the theme - very strong RFI with combination 500R only. With 500R/1 nF there is almost no RFI. With Prefix - there is absolute silence.

I can rest for now or start climbing another mountain. If the difference is not night and day I'll stick with what I got. But I barely listen to CDs anyway so maybe we'll get that

bbb1111,

No 300 in sight?
The difference will be night and day!
Did you have a home demo before?
IMO you do need a 300 to get the full potential of your 552 Winker

Edouard

This quite disturbing as the SuperLine rejects RF rather well.
As part of the development we used an RF lab to confirm our Naim lab experiments and field trials in known bad areas have all had 100% success.

Have you connected your arm GND lead differently?
Also it can be advantageous to keep the arm gnd lead close to the signal cable as they run from the TT to the SL.

bbb111,

Get a pair of SF Amati Anniversario and forget about going active, you'll see then what a passive system can do and you won't have to bother with numbers of black boxes Big Grin

The Supercap 2 arrived last week. This week I received the repaired cart from van den Hul.

I'm using 4/5 Hiline between SC2 and 552. The sound is awesome. I settled on 220R/1nF with this version of the Condor.

Could someone tell me how to map the first input on the back side of 552 for the Superline?

Regards,

Emil
