All,
Switched my 52 off for 20 mins this morning to try the Supercap with my 82. Was surprised to find that the 52 sounded like it did a week ago when it was clap cold? Is this to be expected? Will I have to wait another week to get back where I was? Thanks-I am learning more each day ;-) Kevin. |

Hi Kevin,
When I've switched my 52 off then on again it sounds pretty good staight away and gets better over the next hour or so. By that evening or the next day it's singing again. So I don't believe you should have to wait a week The 52/SC I have are about 10/11 years old and I had them serviced in Jan 08. IMO a very worthwhile and value for money thing to do. The changes were not subtle e.g smoother, tighter more tuneful base etc etc etc. Total cost was about £760 for both 52 & SC. A service really does make a difference and for me it saved me from spending much more on speakers. Though that did'nt last long kindest regards Harry |

asbie,
Whenever I have switched off my CDS3 or 252 for more than a few seconds it has seemed to take about a week before it sounds fully on-song again. If there are any little jobs or system maintenance that need doing I tend to wait until I can do them all at once so as to avoid powering down the system too often. The effect may be mains supply related, as it seems that some others have reported much quicker warm-up times. Probably depends as well on how critical/fussy you are about absolute sound quality. Hope this helps. Peter |

Thanks guys, very helpful.
I am definitely going to get the 52/sc serviced but to placate SWMBO need to sell my 82/hc first..it's funny I thought I really liked the 82/hc until I put it back in the system after a week of the 52/sc ;-) |
