PS, instead of "merry christmass", you can say "shana tova", which is happy new year (a more common thing to say here at this period) , or even more appropriate now is "chanuka same'ach" which is "happy chanuka".

PS2, "naim" is indeed more "pleasure" than happiness, but it is mainly used in a more phyisical sense than "pleasure", maybe "feels good" or something like that.

Yesterday, i celebrated with this
girlfriend the enlighting of the first
two lights of the chanuka "lighter?", i don't
know how the stnad for the candles is called.
So at least since yesterday i know that
the middelst candle is enlightend first and then the most right (from looking in front of the
candleholder(sp)).

It's a was a nice celebration under the free sky. Indedd it was cold here in germany, but hundreds of people shared this event.

So it was a pleasure filled with nice musik (not naim, instead it was a big PA and the rabbi talked to the people standing on the place.)

Maybe you can enlighten me with the sense of the chanuka fest? Is it something commen with a new year celebration? I think so the jewish people have a calender derived from the moon, that the year starts during different periods in the common (so calles chistian) calender?

Maybe you can teach me a few more words, sentences in privat communication?
just to impress a bit.

The essence of most jewish holidays is
"They wanted to kill us, we won, now, where's the food ?", and chanukah as well - its original tale happened around 200bc, when the Israeli rebellion against the Greek empire succeeded and a hebrew state was formed here for 50 years. But this original story is quite far nowadays, and this is a holiday just to remind us of our old days of the hebrew "unity".

For us secular jewish people it's quite ambiguous, as the holiday condemns the jewish people who acted like gentiles and compromised their religion, which is what we basically do quite happily right now. So, no simple answer. But it is still a very much liked holiday as it has many nice related customs and food and habits.

Having nearly now power, it drives
nearly every speaker and thus with an
easy way of presentation and a musical
flow that it real fun to hear the good old
black discs over an item like this.

The nice black finish also perfectly matches the
trafohousing i need to use the MM-input with my
MC.

+ for Naim! The products are build, for infinty.
So to speak they will survive what the americans will call a nuclear hit :-) and still play a fine tune of music. (problems only with tuners and the rf...after nuclear hit....)
