Are they any good?

Yep, not bad! I'm using exactly the same set up (rDock/Crimson) into a 202. It's a huge improvement over using the headphone socket and a smaller but worthwhile improvement over other docks such as the Onkyo which I've also tried. It's probably the best available way to play an ipod using the analogue output. It's clearly not close to my CDX2 but is perfectly acceptable and fine for background listening and parties. You can only improve things by using one of the recent docks from the likes of Wadia which are able to get a digital output from the ipod (or alternatively play directly from iTunes on your PC) and feed into a separate DAC. This option is a lot more expensive though of course. Steeve

Hi, I use one of these as well, with Apple Lossless into a Chord Solid 2 cable> 82> Supercap> Shahinian Arcs. A surprisingly good sound, although once again I prefer my CDX for serious listening. Given the shuffle option and ease of use, I do tend to use the iPod more often though.

I have one too but with Cobra interconnects (seems like everyone uses Chord then...). It's very good, doesn't replace CD/LP but surprises most who hear it.
