Maybe naive,

but does the powerline bring the same performence with it`s eu-version-plug?

The designe of the uk-version seems more sophisticated...

Any thoughts wellcome.

Jodl

Can't speak for the EU version, but the US version (which also uses an off-the-shelf plug) was not a subtle difference.

Likewise, the RCA-to-RCA version of the Hi-Line is no slouch for using WBT nexgen plugs, either!

You mean because it has a fuse fitted?

No, the EU version looks like it has an off the shelf non decoupled plug arangement at the wall socket end. The UK version looks a lot more studied.

Fuses are considered by some to downgrade musical performance.

So maybe an EU Powerline could perform better than a UK Powerline with a 13 amp plug and fuse?

Now a UK 15 amp round pin plug (no fuse and legal on a 15amp circuit) on a Powerline would be interesting!

I believe the UK version does have a slightly special 13 amp plug. As I understand it the way the pins are integrated into the plug is done to provide as much decoupling from the plug body as possible.

In the end a demo at home wherever located should be quite feasible. After all it can easily be posted......and that's the only way to find out.

I am sure we will soon be havng discussions as to the best place in the system to put a single powerline for maximum impact. A lot of us are not going to be able pop for a full set in one go.... Eek

regards
Geoff

Hello!

To my eyes it`s not just the fuse. As seen on naim`s homepage I can`t detect the decoupling on the eu-version but can on the uk-one.

As usual, home-auditioning is to do as soon as possible.

Regards,

Hi robert

....well, I could move to uk...

Today or Saturday? I was there on Tuesday for a DS demo (impressive! but I still like my CDS3/555PS better) - and spoke to them yesterday however they mentioned Saturday is the day that Chris (singular) will be there.
