I believe that's correct Jon. I haven't tried a CDS3 so can't honestly say but I'd try disconnecting the unused RCAs. If nothing else, I would think they'd either disrupt the preferred naim grounding scheme achieved when only using DINs or uneccessarily load the CDS's output stage.
regards,
dave

The other alternative is to use butt plugs. NOTE: These are NOT shorting plugs. I can't claim they make a huge difference, but it had a slight improvement mostly in timing department. ( a better transients due to lowering a noise floor, possibly )

My experience is that one output lead sounds best on my CDS3. The same is true of the pre, when playing vinyl it sounds best when the other input leads are dis-connected. Regards, Bob

Hi Kuma,
I see you have the collar done up tight on the CDP output lead. I thought that was a no no ?

bob,
It was loose. I don't tighten it at all.
In fact, I now sort of prefer the one without a collar.

Me neither, except for the one connecting the 52 to the supercap (as recommended by that nice man from CYMBIOSIS. Bob

um.. yeah.. a power carrying lead for a preamp getting dislodged whilst a power amp is on ain't gonna be pretty, I bet.

Cymbiosis says to fix the collar in this particular case. Anyway the plug is held tightly by the socket so the chances of it being accidently dislodged is very remote. This is evidenced by the effort involved when one tries to disconnect the plug. Slight case of not invented here? Bob
