Hi all, I have a demo arranged on thursday to audition some pre/power combo's. My dealer has already offered me a very good deal on an ex-dem 202 pre. Despite this my budget is restricted and doubt whether I can stretch to affording the 200 power amp or above unless he can offer one at a similar price. I am interested to find out any experiences using the 202 with the 150x good/bad. The other alternative is to go for the complete 'x' series package along with my cd5x and fc2x would this create a better synergy within my system? Regards Wayne.

202/150x is a very good combo, as long as the 150x can drive your speakers. What speakers are you using ??

There no problem at all matching a 202 with the 150x.

I recently upgraded to a 202/150x/CD5x/FC2x and it's a system I could happily live with for a long, long time. A NAPSC is also a great addition so see if you can stretch your finances to add one of those. If you don't get one now you will sooner or later.

I upgraded from cd5x-fc2-112x-150x to the 202/150x combo with NAPSC.
FC2 powers the 202 and CD5X.
I am listening through Dynaudio 52se.
The jump from 112x to 202 was phenomenal.....much much more detail. My dealer recommends Hiline-Hicap- 200 as the future upgrade path.
Stick with the 202/150X combo---you won't be disappointed.
Regards
Dave

Thanks for all the input regarding my choices, finally went for the 122x and 150x which I got a great deal on. I'm hugely impressed with the combo it's a massive step up from the great Nait 5i. Upgrade itch well and truly scratched! Speakers next me thinks.....Thanks again Wayne.

Are the Ushers in the same league will I gain any significant benefit with the CDX2. Thought that maybe my speakers were a weak link.....Thanks

The Ushers are highly regarded as very good smallish standmounters. I would have thought that they are easily good enough to reveal the benefits of an even better front end, especially as you now have a wonderful new pre-power.

Only you can decide and only a dem will tell! ie. which makes you happiest? CDX2 with 122x/150x and Ushers versus CD5x/ FC2x/ 122x/ 150x and different speakers.

Meanwhile that's a lovely sounding system you have right now, enjoy your music.

The 122x/150x with CD5x and flatcap2x is a great setup. Presumably you are using the flat tp power both CD and preamp. I wouldn't rush into changing anything too soon - though do make sure you have a good stand. If you do want to change speakers at some point you could try Naim's nsats, with or without the nsub. This is the system I use and it is very very good.

Hi Nigel,

Yes I'm using the FC on cd & Pre amp, it really is sounding great worth every penny the step from Nait to them is huge IMO. I'm using Isoblue which I've also recently added so my spending is over for a while. The Nsats & Nsub sound good I listened to them when I demo'd the amps, I shyed away from them for now as I felt the amps were my target in this upgrade but would certainly look at them when I do decide to splash the cash again. Thanks Wayne

You cant get them new any more they were replaced by the SL2.
You can pick them up for not a lot of money and once you have a pair you can upgrade all the kit you want and dont have to worry about speakers.
Enjoy your new bits.
