Robbert, how about waiting a bit for the NAC122x?

Keep your 150x and a Flatcapx to power the NAC122 and a Stageline, and Hi-Cap the CD5x?

The HC2 arives Smile

There's no chance to keep the FC2 becouse i trade in my 112x/FC2/Headline for the NAC202.

My CD5x is now feeded by the HC2 Big Grin For the first moment it sounds already brilliant. Tonight when the kids going to bed i'm listening relaxed.

How long does the HC2 have to warm up? ( not burn in )

I'm not waiting for the 122x becouse i want to make a step and not a little step.

Daddycool, later i like to ask you tou comming by with your NAT 05, just for a demo if it is realy a big difference with my sony radio. ( if you like )

Not jet David. I think next week i will have it.

For now my system is:

112x/headline/FC2 + CD5x/HC2 + 150x

And it is gone be:

NAC202 + CD5x/HC2 + 150x

and in the future ( maybe view months ):

NAC202/HC2 + CD5x/HC2 + 150x

And then i watch the topic of blackforest and will do some demo'with a NAP200 or NAP250 Big Grin

I heard about it. How big is the gap with or without a napsc?

As big as adding HC2

Hi Robbert,

I thought you bought your Headline2 from me earlier this year. It travelled from Cymbiosis in Leicester to me in Northern Ireland, then to you in Rotterdam, and now you have sold it on. That is why I commented that it was becoming a seasoned traveler. I wonder where it will end up next.

Sorry not to have made myself clear in the first place.

Cheers

Brad

Yes, to my Naim dealer, 20 minutes from where I live.
So, if I was in the market for a headphone amp, I could be the next owner of the little Headline. Cool

Robbert
With a Napsc you get half the upgrade of a Hicap for a quarter of the price. No brainer really.
It comes supplied with the 282.......

Oh, it made a BIG difference to the NAD tuner I auditioned, it sounds like my P5 TT when listening to a quality radio station.

Why not drop by at Snijders Hifi in Rotterdam to loan you the NAT05 over a weekend? They have one there and will be happy to oblige.

It does take a whole day to come to life so it's better when you have it for a few days.
Pick it up on saturday bring it back on tuesday.
I recently loaned a Nait 5i from them that way.

rgds,
daddycool

And... did you like the Nait-5i, daddycool ? Smile

I mean could it be a next upgrade, or will you keep the Nait-2.

Alco

Alco,
I know you had nait 5i before 5x+flatcap2x, but have you and your dealer never thought about 5x-112x\122x-150x instead of 5x-flatcap2x-nait 5i?
Don't you think this other "3 pieces only" choice'd be better and most performing maybe ?
Thank you,
regards

David

No, I/we haven't thought about that option, David.

It might have something to do with my preference for integrated amps.

In my (olive-series) experience the improvement of pre-power combo's didn't live up to the huge price difference.
(not in my system/room anyway)

Before I bought the Nait-5i, I've had Nait-2, 72/180(demoed HiCap), 102/180, 82/180, and ended up with a Nait-2 again. (main thing missing being the remote Roll Eyes Big Grin)

Early this year I popped in at my dealer and heard some jazzy singer (Diana Krall?) through the Allae's. It sounded very good to me.
In most cases there's a nice 202/200/CDX2 on Fraim system used to demo, so automatically I thought it was also the 202/200 amp combo driving the Allae's.
It seemed I was wrong... it was the little Nait-5i, driving the Allae's! Smile

Since my room is fairly smal(ler), and I don't listen very loud often, I think the Nait-5i is the right amp for me.

Another reason is the source-first filosophy.

best regards,
Alco

thank you, Alco !!
How much improvement does flatcap2x add?
I mean, do you fell it as a good and sensible upgrade in your system?
regards

David
