So did you not listen to different cables between Nait 5i and Harbeth?

Dear Airdavid,
I tried my old audioquest and my friend ask me to try nordost bluehaven. But I have to say, I am not intersted in cable, I prefer spend my money on new records and spend my time on listening music rather than listening cables.

Adam,
What do you think about Audioquest? Is it a good cable?I´m running a Densen B 110 with Audioquest Type 4.The cable is very smooth!

Dear Nuno,
I am not cable expert, so I can't tell you about it. I use audioquest type6+ with my previous system (NAD) and it was very good (detailed, good bass, etc). But when bought my naim my dealer give me naca5 as a gift and I found it was better than audioquest (first impression) and naca stayed in my system.

Naim and Harbeth is also the way to go for me.

I was listening to Harbeth HL Monitor MkIIIs way back in 1982 (then with Rega Planar 3 / A&R Cambridge A60) and made the mistake of changing them for punchier speakers (Pierre-Etienne Leon M3s). 10 years or so later, I returned to Harbeth, this time with Naim electronics.

Claude,
David is right. Maybie you should try Harbeth m40 domestic? But the other side, Alan Shaw from Harbeth told that he loves compact 7 and he uses them in his home.

Because it's his first product....:
"...I'm not really the best one to answer this question because I have a big soft-spot for the Compact (7). It was the first Harbeth I designed; the first to feature the RADIAL cone; the first to use an ali tweeter; the first to be engineered around SuperTunedStructure and SuperGrill. And perhaps as much or more than all that, if you don't mind me telling you this, I threw my heart and soul into it's design in 1995 because my wife was seriously ill and I needed something to completely absorb me. It's true that mistress M30 has been a very big hit with a most loyal following, but I'm still in love with the C7.

My recently serviced 1985 Chrome bumper Nait 1.

This little jewel is currently the heart of my system (LP12, CDS2, Stirling LS3/5A V2, Fraim), until my Nait 2 comes back from Salisbury HQ.
It is simply so good I'm still wondering why bother with servicing the Nait 2? Smile

Chrome-bumper rules!

Edit: sorry for the extra-large photo size

That's an uncommon but very interesting system, Jean-Marc. Smile

I thought I recently read that Naim did no longer service the Nait-1.

It's remarkable that a humble Nait-1 (or-2) can drive LS3/5a's properly.

Btw, recently I also had the chance to audition the Stirlings. (on my Nait-5i as well as my spare Nait-2)

I also found (to my surprise) that the Nait-2 seemed just as happy driving the Stirlings.
Still, sonically I prefered my current Rogers Studio-3's. (at 1/5th of the price I had to pay for Stirling LS3/5a's)
The Stirlings did have a much nicer feneer finish though.

Is it possible for you to post a picture, of your whole system ?

regards,

Alco

Perhaps, but it might take up a few square meters of monitor space. Smile

Great picture of your Chrome bumper Nait1 Jean-Marc!
When your Nait 2 comes back from Salisbury you must report about which one you like best and why...

The big Sony boxes at the bottom will soon be sidelined with an n-Vi Smile
