Kuma,

it's about time to reach agreement with Adam and mark with copyright all your past photos until it's too late. Smile

Do you think the copyright will justify the price of the Briks? The power of marketing eh?

Come on Dick, give us the details (as not contained in your profile). Also tell us about the juke box.

Hi nicnaim

I have now updated my profile, thanks for reminding me. The juke box is a 1973 Rockola a present from my sister, its in full working order but it ain't Hi-Fi
The walls are brick and block which are lined with 2'' of insulation foam, the inner walls are constructed with 18mm tong and grove chipboard, this was then covered with 6mm veneered MDF glued to the surface. The room has no windows and the doors is fitted with sealing strips. Power supply 10mm screaned cable into 32 amp socket with home made Hydra (you can get 5 naim power leads into a 32amp plug) the 10mm earth go direct to 2 meter earth stakes below the flower beds.

Regards Dick.

Well, Dicks Egypt ...and some nice airconditoning...

I`m wondering about the behaviour of a hifi-system in a "fully sealed box-room".
Have you heared your system before the room was treated like now. What are the sonic differences?
Thanks for response,
happy listening,
regards,
Jo

Dick

Your system will sound a lot better if you move it to the side, out from between the speakers. Would this be possible?

Nigel,
assuming you are right, what is the reason for it? Is there any good explanation?

Hannes

I think Nigel is right, and it doesn't take much rocket-science to figure out why...

I'm, more or less, in the same situation.
I have my system (and an old fireplace!) standing in between my speakers.

Preferably any large, rather massive objects are removed from in between the speakers,
improving focus and depth.

That's why many Naim dealer listening rooms (well, the ones I've been at) are often arranged this way, with only the speakers to one wall, and the system in front of another wall/corner.

Still, it's not always possible/practical in a livingroom, and personally I like the looks better when a system is in between the speakers.
(I kinda like symmetry Cool )

regards,
Alco

This is a great thread.

I do believe it should have been titled, 'show us your rack'.

Nevertheless, you owe it to yourself to try it. You'll also find that music is more relaxing if you are not staring at a load of electronics.
