I am attaching a link to a site with 6 photos of my present system :

http://web.mac.com/joe.silva/iWeb/Site/Photos.html

If anyone has any comments or recommendations with respect to system placement, or anything for that matter that may improve sound quality, these are most welcome.

Special thanks goes to Hungryhallibut for recomendations on Naim Fraim / equipment configuration.

Kind regards,

Joe

Nic, with your Rega wall bracket, are you able to open perplex cover of your Rega tt and leave it open -- or you have to remove it completely from the tt every time you play records?

thanx,

S7

The armboard doesn't look level in the picture.

Steve, Chris
The armboard is level with the plinth, but not the top plate as there is a warp to allow for it to fit in the plinth. This is, I believe, correct (Peter - sorry if I got this wrong). The effect is accentuated by the camera angle, not quite parallax but I can't remember the name for this effect. The arm board is not central to the gap between plinth and top plate but runs parallel and seems, to my untutored eye, to bounce evenly.

How's the benz Ace sounds? compare to DL-103r if you have any idea.

Ridzwan,
sorry - can't answer that. I like the Ace cartridges but have not much to compare them against apart from Goldring, Ortofon and Dynavector.

Joe,
What is under your LP12 on the Fraim? What advantages does it have over the Fraim glass?

Sebastian,

The shelf is designed to allow the lid to be open or closed. Originally I took the lid off purely for the photo. Pictures below. Hope I get it right this time Edouard!

Nic

Its called "Black Diamond Racing Shelf". I ordered them a few years back for my Kondo equipment, and they happen to be roughly the same size as the stock glass shelves supplied with the Fraim. I attach another photo taken from a few weeks ago which shows the shelf more clearly. If you hold it between two fingers and hit it, there does not appear to be any vibration, as opposed to the glass shelves. I find the sound with them in place of the glass just a little bit crisper.

regards,

Joe

Thanks Joe - it looks as though Peter did a good job of walking you through the set up process with your LP12. It gives me confidence for fitting my 'geddon.

Hi Nigel,

I have Black Diamond Racing shelves under all my equipment, plus one extra for one Naim power supply. So I've decided to leave that spare BD shelf for the 555PS when it arrives.

Joe

Hi Huw,

Peter walked me thru each and ever minute detail of the Linn set up from 6,550 miles away via e-mail and telephone ! He also promised to drop by next time he's in my neighbourhood to double check everything. That's what I call service. If any man can help with your geddon, Peter certainly can.

They should work very well together, there are a couple of pairs for sale right now. You have the choice of black or Maple.
