Occasionally when placing CD in CD5i-2 the display "Err" comes up. Player sounds like it is trying to recognise the CD but gives up. Last night I tried several CD's and it would not take any. On switching off then on after 5 mins. everything was OK. Is this just another NAIM foible like transformer humming or a problem with the new DAC being used ? Comments very welcome.
if they are Cd from one of the major labels like Sony, EMI, DGG, philips then there is a problem otherwise, i hated it but i ahve to say, that's a thing you have to live with. i only ever have problem with CD-Rs by Dell Lap-tops.
but when it plays music, u just have to listen and forget about the pain.

Sat. 12th Jul. : Took CD player to dealer. Mon. 14th : NAIM agreed to replace. Wed. 16th : Replacement arrives at dealer.
By any standards this is a fantastic piece of customer service by the manufacturer. Come to think of it the bottom of the CD drawer used to scrape on the main body which dealer thinks may have affected alignment of CD or something.

Same with my Nait5i, quickest turn around, no questions asked replacement of a component I have ever experienced.
