It will bend easily and stay bent with a little hot air, from a hair dyer for instance; it comes in black or white, some say the white sounds better. It does have surprising synergy with Naim amps. the important bit is the soldering of the naim speaker plugs that do, imo, work better than "easier" substitutes. If your speakers are biwirable then get the cable terminated in an "F" connection. Are your speakers biwirable ? if so and you are using the brass links, then this will degrade what your speakers can deliver. regards Peter

You might be better with the FatCat 2x. With both removed they do tend to get really plump.

It sounds to me as though Adam is recommending that the poor old cat be orchestrated . Ken

Hi,
I don't think any one who uses Naca5 wires here on the forum finds it user-friendly compared with everything else that is out there in the world of cables. We're using it for its synergy with Naim kit.
I realise you have said Naca5 is "out of the question" but I urge you to borrow two equal lengths from your dealer and try it before you make any changes to your room or consider a different CDP. If you like what it does to your music you will save a considerable sum and you will be hearing the electronics deliver music in the way the designer intended. Peter has already given good advice on how it can be handled so that it is as user-friendly as possible.
In case you're wondering about the various feline references and pictures that have been posted.... Naim's basic power supply is a flat-cap, not the homophonic fat cat.
Enjoy your music, Chris

Well, as I couldn't catch my neighbours cat I just had to try something else. Around the room is a board (not sure if that's the correct word in your language though) almost 3 feet up. So I put a couple of golf shirts on hangers behind the loudspeakers and, although I couldn't hang'em as high as I wanted to, it made a difference. Not a fantastic difference but certainly enough to prove the point made by Briz Vegas. So I'm now insisting on us getting some clothes lines and make the room look more like a back street in an Italian movie from the fifties!

So you'll be needing a couple of Gina Lollabrigida or Sophia Loren clones to complete the picture ? Peter

Please let us know how the room updates go. Presumably you've got Fellini's room sets in mind! Regards, Chris

Ah the old golf shirt trick. Maybe old towels wrapped 3 times round 2 uprights about a foot apart (speaker stands) directly behind the tweeter and the midrange would work better (I would post a photo but don't belong to any of those photo posting sites). As a have a bookshelf and window only a foot behind my head I dampen that as well - together with a quilt over the ironin board leaning against my one corner it makes the room look yuck but the highs are tamed very significantly.
.........and about the fat cat, I could not get one of those as I own two siamese already. I use a catflap 2 instead

You could always go waaaay over the top and get some of those cuddly snakes from Ikea and drape them around the place a bit Nice photos of cats by the way - let's have some more ...here's a (bad) one of my long-deceased moggie: ...can't recall if she improved the sound of my then-system, a Sony midi, though
