I'm by no means an expert, but from what I've read FM will be around a while. I read somewhere that both formats will be used going forward. (Can you imagine trying to retool all the cars and personal radios out there?)

Buy it, but only if you can put up a good quality antenna either outside or in the attic. It could end up being your best source.

I'm fortunate to have a terrific-sounding jazz station available in the Seattle area. With just a $275 antenna/rotor combo on my roof, the 01 is my most used source. If you have good stations (not compressed) then FM broadcasts can be quite wonderful. Even if FM lasts only another five years - and my guess is that it'll be around a lot longer than that - you'll get your full quota of musical smiles per dollar from the tuner.
