I've just ordered a Flatcap2x having auditioned it powering only the CD player. When it arrives will I be better off using it to power both my CD5x and my 202 or would the effect of sole use on one or other of these give a better overall result?

I know that the answer should be to let my ears decide but thought I'd sound out some opinions first on this.

Use it on both, but when you're at it, why not try one at a time and revel at the result when used on both Winker

Regards
Rickard
P.S I assume that you've got the NAPSC D.S

svetty

when i got my 202 new together with an old FC2 i didn't like the 202 powered by the cap. didn't make a lot of difference at all (to my ears). others swear by it though.

keep us posted - this is always interesting me thinks.

RiNo: Not ordered the NAPSC yet - I'm sure I will as the upgradeitis is strong within me (to paraphrase Yoda)

BF: Sure, I'll have a listen when it comes and report back

The napsc makes a very significant difference for the £250 it costs, and I would not want to use a 202 without it.

Does the napsc offer a better improvement to the 202 compared with the fc2? What i mean is using one instead of the other, i believe they can be both used. If only one were available which is better?

I would weight the benefits as FC2 60%, NAPSC 40%.

But remember the NAPSC is half the price.

i thought so...

the napsc is a nice little upgrade _ not more not less. i find it bit over the top to say it's a HUGE upgrade. better separation and more depth (perhaps a bit more blackness and a tad tighter bass) are the effects.

but it's one more box ;(

ps> haven't heard the hicap w/ my 202 though so far. this should be a bigger step (i hope so at least).

regards,bf.
